Softer Is Usually Better – If you’re uncomfortable on your road bike, you might check the tire pressure. Today’s tires usually have recommended inflation ratings printed on the sidewalls. If you’re finding the ride rough, it could be because the tires have been inflated to the highest end of the scale. Unless you're a heavier rider, there's usually no need to pump your tires this hard. For example, you might be riding on 115psi. If that’s the case, try dropping the pressure about 10psi and see if your bike doesn’t ride more smoothly. And, don’t worry about riding with 105psi. That’ll work fine.
