Slow Leak? Check The Valve - When you're searching for a slow leak, don't ignore the valve. Sometimes valves fail and air seeps out. To check, put a little spit on the end of the valve and stare at it for a few seconds. If the valve is leaking, a bubble will form. Often you can tighten the valve and the leaking will cease (on Prestas, this is only possible if the valve has a replaceable core). If this doesn't do the trick, try removing the valve core, putting a drop of oil on the spring and reinstalling the core. This will usually stop the leak. If the leak is at the base of the valve, you can try to patch the tube but this is a difficult spot to repair and you may find tube replacement is the only solution.

echelon –
(Say: esh - el - on) - An echelon is a riding formation used by a group of cyclists when there's an oncoming side wind. Riders stagger themselves forming a diagonal line across the road to best find shelter from the wind, save energy and maintain their pace. Riding in this formation is called "echeloning."
